Gramercy Park Townhouse
1848 Gramery Park Townhouse in New York goes through an exciting regeneration for the Isaly family.
A masterpiece of steel, glass and ceramics transforms this old German brick building into a modern contemporary family home. The family’s goal was a home which paid homage to it’s history and soul, whilst hauling it into the new century. Previous work on the building saw three loft-like residences but the new owners wanted to reconfigure the home into two equal dwelling spaces. The redevelopment saw the addition of a brand new top floor measuring 620 square feet creating an equal space division. The brick rear wall of the two main floors is now gone and it’s replacement sits a glass curtain fitted with tiny diodes, invisible by day but glinting at night like a private constellation.
